Sizing & fit
Do I need to measure my nails?
For most VELNORAYA ready-to-wear sets, no measurement is required. A standard set includes 24 nails across 12 sizes, giving you several options for each finger. Custom-sized sets are different and will clearly say when measurements or a sizing kit are required before production begins.
- Before applying adhesive, lay out all ten nails and match them from thumb to little finger.
- A good fit should cover the natural nail from sidewall to sidewall without pressing into the skin.
- If you are between two sizes, choose the slightly larger nail and refine the side edge with a file rather than forcing a smaller nail into place.
Good to know: Do the full fit check before opening glue. It makes application faster and prevents mixing up sizes halfway through the manicure.
Which nail shape should I choose?
Start with the way you use your hands, then choose the silhouette you like. Shape affects both the visual length of the fingers and how practical the manicure feels day to day.
- Round, oval, and squoval feel soft and practical and are usually easiest for everyday typing and household tasks.
- Almond visually lengthens the fingers while keeping a softer point than stiletto.
- Square gives a clean, modern edge; coffin feels more directional; stiletto is the most dramatic silhouette.
- If this is your first set, a short or medium length is usually the easiest place to begin.
Good to know: The Size & Shape Guide shows the shapes side by side so you can compare them before ordering.
What if one nail is between two sizes?
Choose the larger of the two sizes. A nail that is slightly wide can usually be refined; a nail that is too small may pinch, leave the sidewall exposed, or lift early because it is under tension.
- File only the side edge in small amounts and check the fit frequently.
- Keep the cuticle curve centred instead of removing too much from one side.
- Do not file across raised decoration, painted artwork, or the finished top surface unless the product instructions specifically allow it.
How do I check the fit before I apply adhesive?
Place each press-on over the clean, dry natural nail without glue or tabs. The press-on should sit flat, follow the cuticle curve, and reach both sidewalls without touching the surrounding skin.
- Arrange the ten selected nails in finger order before application.
- Check both hands independently—matching fingers are not always exactly the same size.
- If the press-on rocks from side to side or leaves a visible gap, try the next size before filing anything.
Application & wear
Should I use adhesive tabs or brush-on glue?
Choose the adhesive based on how long you want to wear the set and how important quick removal is. Neither option is automatically better—the right choice depends on the occasion.
- Adhesive tabs are best for events, weekends, photo shoots, or shorter wear when easy removal and reuse are priorities.
- Brush-on glue is better when you want a firmer, longer-lasting hold and are comfortable spending more time on removal.
- Tabs generally suit short wear; careful glue application can support a manicure lasting around one to two weeks, although wear time varies with preparation, nail condition, water exposure, and daily activity.
Good to know: Never combine excessive amounts of different adhesives to try to extend wear. A thin, even application is easier to control and remove safely.
What should I do before applying the nails?
Preparation has a major effect on fit and wear time. The goal is a clean, dry, oil-free nail surface and a complete size plan before adhesive is introduced.
- Wash and fully dry your hands, then gently push back the cuticle area.
- Lightly refine the natural nail edge if needed; avoid aggressive buffing or thinning the nail plate.
- Use the included prep pad or suitable alcohol wipe to remove surface oil and dust.
- Match all ten sizes first, then work one nail at a time with your chosen adhesive.
- After application, avoid soaking the hands or applying cuticle oil immediately so the adhesive has time to settle.
How long will a set stay on?
Wear time is a range rather than a guarantee because it depends on adhesive choice, preparation, natural nail oil, water exposure, and how much pressure your hands experience during the day.
- Tabs are intended for shorter wear and easier removal.
- Glue generally provides a stronger, longer hold when the nail is properly prepared and the press-on fits correctly.
- Frequent long showers, swimming, cleaning without gloves, picking at edges, or using the nails as tools can shorten wear time.
Good to know: If a nail begins lifting, remove or reapply it properly rather than pressing a loose edge back down over trapped water or debris.
Will press-ons damage my natural nails?
Press-ons are designed to be a removable manicure. Most avoidable damage comes from forceful removal, over-filing the natural nail, or peeling off a nail while the adhesive is still strongly bonded.
- Do not pry, peel, or pull a press-on off when you feel resistance.
- Use warm water and oil for tabs, and allow additional soaking time for glue applications.
- Work gradually around the edges with a cuticle stick only after the adhesive has softened.
- If the nail does not release comfortably, stop and soak longer.
Removal & reuse
How do I remove adhesive-tab press-ons?
Tabs are the easier option when reuse is the priority. Do not pull from the tip. Instead, soften the adhesive and release the press-on gradually from the edges.
- Soak the fingertips in comfortably warm, soapy water with a little oil.
- After the edges begin to loosen, work slowly around the perimeter with a wooden cuticle stick.
- Add more oil and continue soaking if you feel resistance.
- Once removed, roll or lift remaining tab adhesive from the underside before storing the set.
How do I remove a set applied with glue?
Glue needs more patience than tabs. The priority is protecting both the natural nail and the press-on, so do not force the separation simply because one edge has started to lift.
- Shorten long free edges only if the product design allows it and you do not plan to reuse that shape unchanged.
- Soak and soften the bond, then work gently around edges rather than levering from one point.
- Repeat the soak-and-release process until the nail comes away with very little resistance.
- Clean residual adhesive from the reusable press-on carefully; avoid harsh scraping across decorated or painted surfaces.
How do I prepare a set for reuse?
A reusable set lasts best when it is cleaned soon after removal and stored so the shapes cannot bend, scratch, or disappear between wears.
- Remove leftover tabs or loose adhesive from the underside only after the set is dry.
- Keep finished top surfaces away from acetone or abrasive tools unless the product instructions specifically allow them.
- Arrange the nails back in finger order so your next application is faster.
- Store the complete set in its original box in a dry place away from direct heat and sunlight.
Can I replace a lost or damaged nail?
Replacement availability depends on the design. Simple colours are easier to reproduce; hand-painted, limited, or highly dimensional designs may not always be repeatable exactly.
- Keep your order number and, if possible, the size or finger position of the missing nail.
- Contact Customer Care with a clear photo of the remaining set so the design can be identified.
- If replacement is available, the team can confirm the price, production time, and whether an exact colour match is possible before you proceed.
Orders & payment
I forgot my order number. How can I find my order?
You do not need to remember the order number. Open Track Order and enter the email address or phone number that you used during checkout.
- The page will show the matching purchase history and order numbers associated with that contact information.
- Choose the order you want to open to see payment, fulfilment, and shipment information.
- For privacy, use the same checkout contact details rather than another email address or phone number.
My payment was approved. How do I know the order is confirmed?
The store confirms payment on the server rather than relying only on what appears in the browser. Product identity, quantity, and total are checked before the order is marked as paid.
- After a successful payment, keep the confirmation page or order number for reference.
- You can also use Track Order with your checkout email or phone number to confirm that the purchase appears in your history.
- If PayPal shows a charge but the order does not appear, do not immediately pay a second time—contact Customer Care so the payment record can be checked first.
Can I change or cancel an order after checkout?
Contact Customer Care as soon as possible. Whether a change can be made depends on the order status and the type of product you purchased.
- Ready-to-ship orders may move into packing quickly, so address or item changes are not always possible once fulfilment begins.
- Made-to-order or custom work may become non-changeable after production has started because materials and sizing are prepared for that order.
- Include your order number and the exact change you are requesting so the team can check the status without delay.
Good to know: Do not place a replacement order until Customer Care has confirmed what can be changed on the original order.
How do verified product reviews work?
Reviews are tied to paid purchases so shoppers can tell that the feedback came from someone who actually bought the product.
- Each product in a paid order can receive one review from that order.
- If the same order contains two different products, each product can be reviewed once.
- Submitting the same product review repeatedly from one order is blocked.
- Reviews enter moderation before they are shown publicly; approved reviews display a Verified purchase indicator.
Delivery & returns
When will my order be dispatched?
Preparation time depends on what you buy. Ready-to-ship sets, made-to-order designs, polish, and care products may not share the same dispatch schedule.
- Check the preparation or dispatch information on the individual product page before ordering.
- If one order contains products with different preparation times, the slower item may affect when the complete parcel can leave.
- Once the order is fulfilled, the tracking information will appear in Track Order when shipment details are available.
How do I track my parcel after it ships?
Open Track Order and use the same email address or phone number entered at checkout. Select the relevant purchase from your order history.
- When the order has shipped, the carrier, tracking number, and tracking link are shown inside the order details.
- Carrier scans can take time to appear after a label is created, so a newly issued tracking number may not show movement immediately.
- If tracking stops updating for an unusual period, contact Customer Care with the order number so the shipment can be reviewed.
What should I do if my parcel arrives damaged or the wrong item is inside?
Keep the packaging and contact Customer Care before discarding anything. Clear information makes it much easier to confirm what happened and choose the right solution.
- Provide your order number and a short description of the issue.
- Photograph the outer parcel, shipping label, internal packaging, and affected product where relevant.
- Do not wear, alter, or dispose of an incorrect product while the issue is being reviewed.
Can I return a press-on nail set?
Return eligibility depends on the product type, condition, and whether it was standard, made-to-order, or custom-sized. Hygiene and custom production can limit what can be accepted back.
- Review the Returns policy and the product-specific notes before purchase, especially for custom or made-to-order work.
- If you think you may need a return, keep the product unworn and unaltered and contact Customer Care before sending anything back.
- A sizing or preference issue is different from receiving a damaged or incorrect item, so include the reason when you contact support.
Good to know: The published Returns policy is the controlling policy for eligibility, timing, and any return instructions.
