Looking after a set begins before removal. Know which adhesive you used and which removal method is suitable for both that adhesive and the decorated nail. A reusable-looking piece is not automatically ready for another application.
Keep the original instructions
Save the product name and the directions for your adhesive and remover. They help you avoid using a method intended for a different material or finish.
Follow those directions and do not pull against resistance. A solvent that removes one glue may also affect artwork, decoration or the press-on itself.
Check the whole piece
Once removed, look for cracks, bent areas, damaged decoration and residue. Clear adhesive only as the product instructions allow, keeping tools away from surfaces that could be scratched.
Do not glue a broken piece back together for wear. If you are unsure about its condition or compatibility with a remover, ask about the particular set.
Make the next fitting easier
Let pieces dry completely before storing them. Keep sizes in finger order and use a box that prevents pressure, bending and contact with sharp objects.
Before the next wear, check condition and fit again. Reuse depends on the set, the adhesive, the removal process and how the piece has been stored; it is not an unlimited-wear promise.
A note of the sizes that fitted each hand is often more useful than a perfectly arranged photograph of the box.
